    some flowers from Daffodil Hill
Just some flowers from a walk at Daffodil Hill. They bloom so briefly here in the foothills of Northern California, so we went up there after church before we completely missed them. About half the flowers were already wilted, but there were still plenty to look at.

Nice shots, Leon - I especially like the 3rd one. Great PP work.

So how do you do it? Care to share? :)

A little cropping. A lot of layers. I usually crop through the viewfinder a little larger than what I have in mind to give myself more working room in photoshop, but not so much that I give up too much resolution.
The third shot was several layers, the image was cropped quite a bit from the original (see viewfinder forum-I posted this over there with the original for comparison), then copied and pasted onto a new, slightly larger background layer, a Gaussian blur layer from the image layer(about 10 pixels radius) with opacity reduced to about 72%, blended normally, then a drop shadow applied, text layer, then layers flattened, and the final image resized for upload.

Nice work. They almost look like the Orton effect but not as contrasty. I like them all.

Speaking honestly.. I really like the first one, but the second two make my eyes hurt with the PP. Maybe its just because I am tired but I cant look at them long because its straining my eyes.
