Re: Snake Eyes and Forked Tongue
Great images BB, thanks for sharing. For the uninitiated (that includes me) what type of snake is this and how close were you to him. The reason I ask, is tha there in the Great White NOrth, we don't often encounter snakes and when we do they don't look like this one...so I am just curious. Thanks.
Cheers,
WesternGuy

Ssssssuper ssssharp focus on the eyes on most. Nice series, BB.
Re: Snake Eyes and Forked Tongue
Western Guy that snake is a bull snake. It ranges all the way from Mexico into Canada. It's a large non-venomous snake that eats rabbits, prairie dogs, mice, birds etc. It's often mistaken for a rattlesnake by some folks. I think its one of the neatest looking snakes around.

Spot on detail on those eyes!!
Re: Snake Eyes and Forked Tongue
BB, thanks for the information - bull snake, yes, but I think I can see why some might initially mistake it for a rattler - it seems to have a vague, very vague mind you, resemblance to a Western Diamondback Rattler, at least from the pictures I have seen.
