    Slimeeeey
I caught this little guy hanging out below a birdfeeder the other day. Had to slap the macro lens on and grab a few.

A few days before one of his friends left a slime trail on my camera bag, it was pretty gross.

    Comments and critique always invited.

You probably are well aware that the convention goes "focus on the eyes" - but difficult to do when the eyes are so wide-set like that, yes? :p

Nice shooting. Personally I like #2 as it is what I would call a "natural portrait" and the portrait orientation fits perfectly.

    .

Ha ha yeah, the width makes it tough unless the shot is straight on (BORING!). That and the generally slimey nature of pretty much the whole snail makes sharp focus seem semi irrelevant. I focused on the shell because honestly the visual difference between an in and out of focus shell is greater than that of in and out of focus slime, eyes or otherwise. Weird little critters.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I think I'm going to get these printed and see how they look at 4x6.

Loving the second one I like the way the light shining on the shell gives so much detail. I love using macro, think it is so interesting. Great shots.
