Silence is Broken
My somewhat loose work schedule allows me to get out when others are trapped in cubicles and warehouses. Mostly it's quiet and serene, but not yesterday. A couple women were across the pond yelling their heads off and talking so loud I think one of them had to be deaf. They had a pair of equally yappy dogs with them. Bah. I tried to ignore them, but their shrill bleating carried perfectly across the water. Finally after an interminable amount of time, they went out of earshot (presumably the moon). Not a moment too soon and I think even the pond agreed.
I suspect I could have gotten a better angle on this bridge if the pond wasn't so swollen with flood water...what is normally a trail leading up to it on this side was deep with water.

On this one, I love how the birdhouse (for what kind of birds I have no idea...ducks?) is still in shadow -

A mile or so away is another pond with this waterfall of escaping water - I love how it flows under the root of this tree. There used to be a lumber mill on this site, but has fallen out of use and only foundation stones are left, all of which were unphotographable in this light.

Re: Silence is Broken
Wow, what beautiful reflection shots. You'd never guess there were two yappers messing up your tranquility. thank you for sharing these.

Re: Silence is Broken
Beautiful shots. Those reflections have a great, dreamy sort of quality!

Re: Silence is Broken
Thanks folks. The pond actually does have a current that runs through it, but it's very localized and so the rest of the pond is dead still. So glad still photographs at least are silent.

Re: Silence is Broken
The first photo the reflection is so clear than if printed you wouldnit know which is the real thing, and will be wondering if the image is up or down
good thing you waited until the noisy pair left :)

Re: Silence is Broken
All are nice, but I really like the B&W image. In color, the relection seems almost too busy.

Re: Silence is Broken
thanks much guys. I like the B&W one, too - I did it to emphasize the bridge and help it to stand out more.
