rwbb and a gaggle of geese
After looking at more of the nice photos on this site I decided to go out yesterday morning and see what I could find. Unfortunately, in my neck of the woods, this is about as good as it gets.

    All comments welcome.

Good Captures Mike tell us a bit about your equipement. Do you know if this is only one family or are some of these adopted :)

Thanks for sharing these with us, Mike. I really like the RWBB shot and how the implied motion of the wind (as seen in the weeds) adds action to the shot. A slight turn of the RWBB's head towards you would have been icing on the cake. Still a fine image.

Knight, there isn't much to tell about my equipment. It's just a Panasonic DMC-FZ7. It has a max of 6 mp and 12X optical zoom. I can get 16X extended optical zoom if shot at 4 mp. like I did here. I ordered a 2x conversion lens for it but it was a piece of crap. The vendor wouldn't do anything about it so I called the manufacturer a week and 1/2 ago and they came to the conclusion, after I submitted a few shots taken with it, that I had a defective lens. They promised to send a new one out, but I'm still waiting. The Panasonic does have IS and all the manual features of my old 35mm Nikons. It's a little more of a learning curve.

Loupey, you mentioned implied wind? Cripes, the wind was blowing 20 mph and gusting to 26 mph. That's not implied. Heck, the wind always blows around here. Right now it's blowing 32 mph. It gets a little annoying. It really adds to the challenge when a bird is perched on cattails. And yeah, if only the birds would cooperate a little. This was the only shot where he had an open mouth, so the rest got deleted.

Thanks a bunch for the compliments guys.

These are some very nice images, especially in the wind! Wind is not very conducive to shooting, so my hat's off to you!
