    Seriously, I have no clue either. Just guessing, it may have something to do with prep for egg laying. Interesting shot.

    Looks like he's been at the cuckoo spit.
    Nothing to do with cuckoos :)
    It's a frothy protective covering secreted by some bugs while feeding on plants.
    The butterfly probably wouldn't have been feeding on it/them but could just have walked into it and picked it up.
