Ringneck Pheasant

I got a bunch of pix of pheasants the other day. Colorful birds. Here's one of them.

That is a rather colourful bird :) Maybe it would show off a little better against a more plain background? (I know - one doesn't always have a choice!)

Where's the rest of the tail??? :)

I have the whole tail in other horizontal shots (posted here), but I liked the vertical one best.
Part of the reason is I shoot for covers, and they prefer vertical format.

The branches aside, I like this one much better :) The less distracting background makes the bird stand out so much more, and it does have such a beautiful tail! :)

Thanks, PD. This is a great site, and I've learned a lot already.
The first pix actually has more contrast, detail and better color saturation. I've just learned more about posting here and did a bitter job with the horizontal.

I also prefer the second post. Too bad about the...whatever that is in the foreground.
