Return of the Red Shouldered Hawk

This morning, the Blue Jays ran my Red Shouldered Hawk off the property. Late this afternoon he returned to my backyard for another photo session.........

Can't believe a hawk would be bothered by blue jays. Learn something everyday.

As to the squirrels, lets hope so, I have too many in my backyard. It's a young hawk and it appears that it is just learning to hunt "big game". Yesterday it spent quite some time chasing the squirrels with out success, but it keeps getting closer. Yesterday he did have some blood on his feet and legs indicating that he did capture something.
