    A rare visitor

    Yesterday I was out in the backyard and saw this guy come in for a landing down by the creek. I haven't seen an egret in this area for at least 5 or 6 years so it was a nice surprise. I grabbed my camera and ran down as close as i could get without scaring him away.
    He's right in front of the neighbor's property and they have some kind of wire fence at the edge of their bank which unfortunately got in the way of some of the shots, but i'm glad i was able to get this close.

    Great egrets are coastal nesters, so what you have is a post breeding wanderer
