Quietly Reflecting

Wow! Loupey what a great image, I love everything about it, bird sharp, lovely reflection, gorgeous blue background with slight ripples on the surface of the water. Beautiful.

As a N/W photo, I'm a bit ho hum on this, you can't really make out the bird very well.

As a photograph as an artistic piece, I like it a lot. The colors and contrast, the simplicity and light blue of the water contrasted with the colors of the killdeer and the obvious motion make a great photo. My eyes are immediately drawn to the bird and hand his reflection.
The simplicity of this photo really seals the deal.

I guess I'm saying its more wall hanger less field guide. (nothing wrong with that at all)

Even field guide bird photos are not necessarily the best bird photos in some people's opinions. Just because the bird is sharp, with good colors and a clean background are not good enough for them, as far as I can tell.

Birders (watchers not photographers) are a strange breed indeed, but that is a completely different discussion unto itself!!
