    A Strange Encounter

So I'm walking along a bike path when I spot what appears to be a large mound of poo up ahead. As I get near, I see that it is moving!

The heavy rains and abrupt temp change to about 35-degrees probably brought him out. He was walking very slowly and there was not signs of trauma. I figure he is a very old fella (they live very long).

    Re: A Strange Encounter

And then, just a little farther up the path - in fact I think you can see it at the top of image #1 - I come across this grizzly scene.

Apparent hit-and-run by a bike or ranger's truck which happened to come through while I was shooting the crawdad.

The worm actually came out from underneath the frog's crushed head while I setup the shot. Don't know if it came out of the frog's gut or was just about to get eaten when it was run over.

After I shot this, I went back and put the crawdad in the grass.

I've seen thousands of crawdads before, and I can't recall ever seeing one out of water like that... very strange. I love the head on close-up!

Loupey do you sleep?? the variation in your subjects are never ending and continuously amazing.
Poor frog, lucky worm! and a sigh of relief for the crawdad.

    Thanks, Copy and Bev!

Bev - you know, my pace seems ever increasing lately. I'm finally embracing this digital stuff whole-heartedly now. Would you believe that I'm about 2 days away from turning my 30D over? It's been 2 1/2 months

Haven't seen a non-food crawfish since I was a little kid. Thanks for sharing.
