Great shot, C_B! Looks like a croaker for lunch. An image like this makes one appreciate how the beak looks to have been unhinged like a snake's in order to swallow the large meal.

Would make a great Caption Contest image for the Viewfinder Forum. My entry would be, "What? Do I have something in my teeth?"

Thanks guys. This was one of those cool "opportunity" shots. We had just hiked about 2 miles carrying our 1D series cameras with 600mm lenses on them, and stopped for a rest. As we're stting there trying to figure out a good cart design so we wouldn't have to carry these beasts over our shoulders any more, this Anhinga just sort of popped out of the water about 20 feet from us with this fish in it's mouth. We both scrambled to set up and get the shot. My buddy missed it, but I got a few frames. Anyway, here's a couple frames later once he got it into his gullet:

Amazing shots! Thanks for sharing. Makes lugging that 600 around worth the effort.
