Nice shots. He looks so proud in the first photo. I haven't had my Bald Eagle fix yet this winter, so I'm glad you posted these.

Excellent shots, Eric. It must have been cold, the way he's puffed up in the first one.
The second one really impresses me, because I know how hard it is to get a sharp shot of a flying bird. The angle looks like you were flying alongside. How did you get it?

Thanks...Second shot the Eagle flew in front of me almost at eye level. He was chasing an Osprey that had just caught a fish. The Eagle chased the osprey way out into the adjacent fields and snatched that fish right from that Osprey. That is the photo i want to capture one day. I see it happen every time I go to the Wetlands but the attacks take place way beyond camera reach. Patience i will need!!

    Re: Bald Eagles....

I have a couple of really good shots of an eagle eating a fish he picked up in front of me one day while fishing on Lake Barkley. He flew to a big oak to eat it, and I snuck up on him.
A lot of bald eagles winter on the Land Between The Lakes, and I've got a contact with a naturalist who keeps tabs on their nests. In Jan. or Feb., he promised to take me on a tour of nesting sites, and I look foward to getting a bunch of great shots.
Eagles really aren't my thing, but the general public seem more interested in them than anything.
