    Out for a walk

    After being stuck indoors with freezing temperatures I took advantage of today's sunny 0 Deg. Celcius and got out for a walk in the woods. The wind was very strong and twice I nearly got brained by dead branches falling as the trees swayed, but it was just great being out on such a warm day.

    Got the usual culprits...





    An interesting stump...


    And this bit of birch bark laying in the snow caught my eye...


    I see the pussy-willows are starting to come out, perhaps spring isn't too far away....

    Love that 2nd shot. What are the specs on that one? It looks like flash was used. The feather detail and the catch light are very nice.

    Thanks Mike. No flash on that second shot, just lucky on the angle of the sun that time. Shutter speed was 1/180, 200 iso shot with my 80-320 lens and a 2x converter so the aperture and focal length didn't register on the exif info. I used spot metering and auto white balance. Still learning the basics here and enjoying the process.
