Osprey in tree with catch of the day

I found this guy way on the other side of a flooded area of my park, in bad light (straight into the sun) and well over 200 feet away. It would be over a quarter of a mile hike to get a vantage point, along a trial I'd just done and was on the way out of, so I'd be backtracking. And some of that isn't actually "trail" so much as a cleared path over some dunes.

Well, off we go, hoping he'll still be there when I get there. Made a careful note of a couple of particular trees the other side of him as landmarks, because I'd lose sight of the spot while hiking around the flooded area to get there. Well, I did find him again, and had perfect, sun-behind-me light, and ended up less than 60 feet away!

Nice photo. I had an Osprey circling around me on Saturday. I took off my wide zoom and put on my long zoom and it disappeared.
