Morning flight

I took this photo yesterday morning in the neighborhood park. There were several white ibis around but most had their bills down in the much searching for breakfast.

I love the angle and wing position in this image.

One side comment though....

I always got a kick out of the fact that I could go to a park in Houston and see Gangs and wildlife in the same view while police helicopters flew overhead ;) No joke either, I have seen red on blue fights while shooting sora, dowitchers and loggerhead shrikes in a park.

If my mother was still alive , I would find out the park name/ location . That park was unbelievably loaded with wildlife and it was surrounded my heavy traffic all day and might have been 30 acres at most with half being a flood plane!

Although I wasn't into photography at the time...I know of what you speak from my time in Houston...hehe...and Phoenix, LA, San Diego, Honolulu!!!! hehe...I used to live in Jacinto City and Baytown and would take the kids to various parks around the Houston area, but can't remember their names, and I saw what you just described a couple of times. hehe. Could get scary at times.

Ken..... I am not scared by gang members or their activities at all.

The only person who has scared me since I was 14 is my father ;)

I lived in Houston for 1.5 years or so and left at 14 ;) My mother had to live right near the sharpstown mall because of $$ issues. I assure you that area was not were a caucasian boy from the north fit in during the early 80's ;) ROUGH neighborhood I assure you.

I work with a Blood from Harlem , am friends with a Latin King from Phili, Used to work with a Crypt from Camden(across the river from phili), know plenty of HA's/Pagans and even talk to ex-governor/ head of the EPA Christine Whitman every week ;) I can fit in anywhere .
