Nice bunch of youngsters, Billy. Is that a coot carcass on the ice in the first image?

These look good, Billy. What kind of eagles are they?

Birds sure are hard to shoot. Even that more or less stationary cooper's hawk in my backyard required a 600mm. How far away were you from the eagles on the ice? Did you crop a lot to get the images so tight?

They are Bald Eagles, Juveniles and young adults, They were at I'd say 50 - 100 feet away on the ice. I was using EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender 1.4X, 800mm and 100-400 for the in flight. and all were cropped.

Juvenile - that explains why they didn't look familiar.

How are you liking the 200-400mm? Have you used it enough to write a review for us, yet? I'd love to have a user review for that lens :)

Nice, we have a lot of these guys around here. There's a fish hatchery between here and Crested Butte and they all congregate there, juveniles and adults. Such beautiful birds! One morning I counted 17 balds but more often there is 1-3 at a time.

Nice job on the photos. Are they cropped a lot? These are nice images but a little more pixelated than I'd expect with your setup unless you are cropping away 2/3 of the image (and I understand that sometimes needs to be done).

Yes they are heavily cropped. I try to get to the point were you don't see the pixilation to much

I had the lens once before and sold it because I did not like the slide focus, but I am getting used to it. I not that experienced to give a good review
