    Not your typical "zoo" pictures
The weather was so nice that we just had to go to the zoo today. So did everyone else.

Nice thing is that I can always find something along the grass/weed lined paths to shoot. Imagine a whole group of people looking one way and one guy (me) pointing exactly in the opposite direction :)

I realized after I got home that I did not shoot a single "exhibit" animal. Other than the first one of the birds (in the rafters of a walking bridge - sorry about the harsh flash), I can guarantee that no one saw these scenes until a few of them came up to me to see what it was that I was seeing.

Great shots, particularly the 3rd, 4th and 5th. Too funny that you spent the day at the zoo shooting "other" exhibits.

scott-devon, Yarrow - thanks for looking! I considered it a successful outing of non-zoo images :)

Although my son came home later (I had to go to work) with nice shots of a baby koala, baby bonobo, and various birds. I will definitely go back and look at the exhibits :p

Weird how things work out sometimes...

So one of the things that I had to do later that day was to do an audition for a photoshoot. Didn't know for who or what. They had me pretend I was holding an "interesting bird" on my hand while feeding it out of a cup. So I say, "like a lorikeet?" Yeah - that was it. So I figured I nailed the audition as I knew how to mime that pretty well (plus I told the client that I was just there that morning).

So the shoot was today. Weather was miserable (90+ degrees) in an outdoor shoot with no cover. But I did get to go back to the zoo :)

And yes, I got pooped on.

My made up "family" before the shoot:
