New camera, same fish...

Hello guys,

Thought what I'd do here is show a few from my new camera, and just for fun, show the same fish in each from my old camera. I am not saying one is better than the other, just a general comparison since I have used both cameras.

Lighting with the D60 is a bit different. It was actually trickier with the E-500, because it didn't have a sync port. Therefore I had to set my slaves off with the FL-36 flash on the camera. This did not always work, and I was not always able to get both flashes to fire. On top of that, in order to get the dang things to trigger in the first place, at the odd angles they were at, I had to have the flsh at full power, so I always had some direct flash, like it or not. However, with the D60, I can connect the slaves via the sync port, and get much better results, I just have to learn a new way of doing things. I'm getting there though...:thumbsup:

Great shots Almo, they say aquatic shots are'nt easy but you have done a fine job here.
Love #2 got the lighting right here it looks, and the colours and DOF spot on.

I don't suppose you can put a pic of your lighting set up in the studio lighting forum could you. I'd love to know how you acheived these shots.

I was thinking about that already. I plan on getting some shots tonight, so I will take a pic of the setup then. :thumbsup:

Great shots! I've never really got any good aquatic shots before. I haven't really tried with my Lumix FZ7, so maybe I'll give it a try. I'd also like to see how you set it up. Love the Peacocks!

Yes, yes, I meant to get some shots of the setup posted today, but I never got around to shooting. Fear not though, I will indeed post images of my lighting set.

Thanks for the kind words! The fish you referd to is actually a Protomelas sp. "Steveni Taiwan" (Taiwan Reef), a type of haplochromine, not a peacock. I know I am splitting hairs here, but as an aquarist splitting hairs is what I do...:p

First two aren't Peacocks? Great looking fish either way!
