Dylan8i & scott-devon - I really appreciate your feedback on this one. I'm pleasantly shocked it had an impact as I thought it was a bit too simple. You'll notice that most of my shots are really simple/basic in terms of image complexity anyway, but this one was really basic.
sine we are already on the topic, i was working with beeches that where close to 100 cm DBH (diameter at breast height- 4.5 feet) in my kentucky field site. they said the record in that forest was around 70 INCH DBH i have seen some very old oaks around my area though that where larger.
