    7D for Landscape Photography

I have a 50D and a 7D which I use for wildlife photography. I am gaining an interest in landscape photography and wonder if the 7D would make a "very good " camera for this use? Or should I spring for a 5d Mark II?

I think it will be fine as a landscape camera. Either body you own will do fine. The 7D's forte is sports, but it can certainly do anything you ask it to. If you feel it's limiting you (such as not being wide enough) then maybe it's time to move to full frame. Many photographers shoot fine landscapes on crop bodies.

I haven't been really satisified with using the 7D for landscapes, and that is one of the biggest reasons I got a 5D2. The clarity of the images is significantly improved and it does a much better job of limiting noise at higher ISO settings. I still use the 7D for most wildlife and action shooting, but switch to the 5D2 for low light and landscape situations.

Perhaps it's a question of what lenses you have and like to use.

For example, if you had a 21mm Zeiss it would be a shame to use just the crop portion and underutilize the lens.

On the other hand, if you had an ultra wide angle zoom like the 10-22mm and like the performance of it on a crop body, perhaps there is no reason to go FF unless you intend to also get some new glass.
