    Field of Ice

Took a drive tonight and found a corn field that had been flooded from the rain a few days ago, and then froze. Lost of interesting shapes, and shadows in the evening light. It was fun to listen to the ice creek and crack as the sun went down.

    Re: Field of Ice

If you hadn't explained the ice, I would have guessed some permanent fixture with a wobbly support at the edge of a body of water. Nice long shadows for such short stalks.

I'd be temped to crop the top 1/2 inch or so so remove the extra material in the upper frame and bring the jagged edge to predominate.

Today I was listening to ice dropping off the houses in our neighbourhood and the sound was quite forceful - more like something being thrown hard than gently melting ice. Like your cornfield, spring is full of surprises.

    Ta,

Good capture Mike , we sometimes take the little things in life for granted without really stopping to view or listen to them. Well Captured.

That a very cool image. I like the angle of the ice sheet and the shadows cast on it.
