Got this going on in the backyard. The babies hatched one week ago. The nest would fit in a table spoon.

Wow, I wonder how tiny the babies are...

Aging,

Perhaps .5" Maybe. They looked like drops of tar when newly hatched. It has only been in the past couple days that feather-like fuzz has grown. Their eyes are not open yet but much more movement by way of adjusting for tight quarters. I can't wait to see how they both fit in this tiny space in another week.

David, I love these! I have never ever seen a humming bird with its wings still! Back a few years when I had time on my hands, I tried everything to attract them to my patio area... bright flowers, a mister, a really nice hb feeder. Nothing worked.
