Moth formally known as the Yellow-Collared Scape Moth

"Formally known" since as I got better and better shots, I've become certain my ID was wrong and these are Virginia Ctenucha Moths. They look very similar to the Yellow-Collared Scape Moths, but the key difference I noticed is that the Ctenucha has blue on its face and above its wings, which the Scape moths don't appear to have.

Anyway, been getting some great shots of them. I also saved one who somehow had her foot trapped in a milkweed flower. She looked like her legs were beat up a bit, but could still fly and perch, so I think she'll be okay.

This one ain't so lucky. They're like monarchs where they taste bad to birds,but it looks like one might have wanted to give this one a taste. Poor moth.

Great shots Cara, I like #5 best.

Excellent shots. These are just with the 300 and tubes?

Does it hold perfectly still? If so, something like #9 would really be awesome with multiple focus images stacked to get the front antennae in focus.
