Took a Stroll in the Woods With My Son Today

Here's what we saw...

The gopher tortoise was in the middle of a trail and stayed put while we looked a him. When I got on the ground and got closer, he came up and sniffed my shoe for a bit before moving on. Took his picture with a D200 and Sigma 50-500mm and SB-800 flash with the lens at 50mm.

The six lined race runner stated with us for a while, too. Also taken with the Sigma.

I'm not sure on the species of crab. Anyone have an ID. They are small and found at the edge of the marsh, but also quite far inland, as this one was. Continuing the trend. He stuck around while I got clsoe with a Tamron 90mm macro and 1.4X TC.

Finally, the cicada is something I've been trying to capture with a clean photo for a while. This isn't great, but my best yet. Also taken with the Tamron 90mm and TC.
