[Old Timer]

If they are too redundant just tell me, but by the time I get off work and get out with the camera there isn't a lot of time. I generally endup in the back yard and the images may be just too similar. At any rate here are a few from this afternoon. D2H with the 105mm again.

I love the Kentucky 'not-a-bee' (family Syrphidae).


I've heard the field description of their sound depicted as, "buzz, buzz, y'all"

Im not Familiar with Not A Bee but i take it to Bee the center photo and its Superb Others are great also

Well I didn't know what to call it either. It was willing to pose and let me get close so it got it's picture taken.

Yes, my favorite is the second one as well. I would like to know how you manage to 'bee" in the right place at the right time... I find that critters just take off too quickly for me!

Thanks Kristen and Alison for the kind comments. I bee in the right place by being patient number one and trying to have everything ready when the subject decides it wants to pose. I was lucky on this one in that it found plenty to sup on and stuck around a little longer than usual.

Hey, OT, I just had to say that first one (ladybug) made me smile. The blemished spot on the leaf makes it look like the bug just threw up.
