    Monday Morning Birding Trip
Monday was a holiday up here in Canada (celebration of Queen Victorias Birthday) so I snuck out early in themorning to get away alone with my camera. I went to a spot that I found recently where there is a small wetland in a bend in a river in a park system in the middle of the city. It's like a little piece of countryside 5 minutes from downtown.

Although I made several attempts at inflights on tree swallows my attempts weren't even worth the data they wrote on the memory card. But a good day was had regardless of that. Here's the higlights of my visit.

All shots are full frame or only slightly cropped for better composition.

And a few more of the better ones. I shot almost 500 shots in a 2 hour period but I had so many different species to choose from I just shot them all as I saw them.

Missing from the shots were a Northern Flicker that just wouldn't give me a shot... as well as numerous Orioles that stayed hidden from view just enough tht I wouldn't pull the trigger.

Thanks CK .. but apprantly that Heron is a Juvi Black Capped Night Heron (I cheated and asked Paul as well as FINALLY buying a birding guide after the dog ate my last one lol)

And thanks for the comments Knight. It was nice to sit in one spot really and watch the wildlife come to me. There's even a park bench where I was sitting lol. I went looking for a RT Hawk but found a virtual zoo.

It was such a good morning I just wanted to share it with you all.

Great shots Jaedon. Victoria Day in this part of the Western Prairies was quite yucky, so my wife and I went out for a country drive this afternoon (Tuesday) found a few birds. I have not processed them yet, but will try and post a few when I get them out of the camera.

    Cheers,

Looks like this "new" place is a great place.

Sounds like you had a great time as well. Hope you'll post some more from this new find.
