Moms with babies from Glacier and the Tetons

Here are a few shots from my trip to Glacier and the Tetons. The moose were in a deep shadow and kind of hard to see, and I wish I would have seen the bears somewhere other than the highway, but I'll take what I can get.

We saw the mother bear and cub run across the road in front of us. We pulled over and I got out to see if I could get a shot of them in the ditch. As I was looking for them, I could hear another cub crying from the other side of the highway. The mother ran back across the road to get the other cub, and the first one soon followed behind her. A few moments later the mother came back across the road for a 3rd time, with this cub right on her heals. A few moments later, the second cup sprinted across the road trying to catch up to the rest of the family. Very fun to watch.

Sounds like a very cute moment with the momma bear running back and forth. I bet a lot of cars had pulled off the road to watch that one.

I like the bison moment too.

Surprisingly, no. Other than a construction worker who was setting up some cones along that stretch of road, I think we were the only people to see it. The construction worker said that she worked in Glacier all last year and never saw a mother with cubs.

Thanks LL. Yes, it was a wonderfull trip. I can't wait to go back during a different time of the year.

Michael, what an experience that must have been, seeing all those mothers and little ones. It is a great idea to go back at different times of the year. That is what I like having the Rockies about an hour to the west and able to go there at different times of the year - changes all the time.

Thanks for sharing your experience and nice photos. My daughter and her husband are at Glacier this week. I hope they get to see some of the wildlife you experienced. However, if my daughter saw a bear, she wouldn't get out of the car.
