    Made it out last night
Still trying to get a decent meadowlark :p 1/500s is too slow.

Inspired by Copy Kot, Speed, and SpeedingSphere to shoot the moon with a long telephoto, my attempt.

The last one is from my driveway this morning. About the size of a 50 cent piece. Don't know how it ended up in the middle of the driveway.

Great reflection of the Canada Goose, and the flock of birds is wonderful.

I am digging the dead hatchling myself. Though death is not pretty, it's a part of life.

Great shots Loupey! I never thought I would say this about a goose image, but that Canada goose rocks! The moon shot is cool too!

Thanks, everyone! I must say that I am rather shocked that the goose got high reviews :p I figured I would get a lot of friendly flack for first posting bunnies and then a goose! Not the beastly of wildlife one would/should shot :D

Copy - I never thought I'd shoot yet another goose. My targets (coots and grebe) are too shy but the geese sometimes chase each other in flight within 15' of my head. But only when I don't have my camera in the ready.

    WsW-Wyatt-Earp - I hope I didn't cross the line :) I'm a secret cross-poster :p Thanks for the kind comments.

Paulnj - I thought so too. I crouched real low when I saw it and thought "cool". I came back a few hours later - it was still there, untouched. A bit stiffer, drier, and tougher in the direct sun.

Yarrow - I wish I could somehow get more of the flock without getting the individual birds from becoming so small. Difficult to reproduce what the eye/brain can do :) I'm always mesmerized at how these flocks look like a school of fish and I'm always trying to get a different shot of them. Thanks for looking!

Bev - I dunno, it's rare that they fly towards me. Here's the typical view I get of them. Same bird a few minutes later as he finally left the area having put up with me stalking him from tree to tree.

big baldo - until the others showed us how much detail could actually be photographed, I didn't think of it either.

It's the light on the goose, it's wonderful. They are all nice. I agree with paul, there's something cool about the hatchling.

I viewed these last night after I posted but was too tired to comment.

These are great. I love the sillohette of the flock against the sky. The goose is very nice too.
