    Last Hold Out

Despite low temperatures right around the freezing mark the last several nights, I looked really really hard today for any signs of life.

Saw two frogs (which immediately jumped into the icy cold water - being cold blooded they probably don't feel it, things ...just.....start..........to...............slow.. ......................down ), one grasshopper, one little flying thing, and two of these.

Both he and his twin brother (a few leaves away) were completely immobile. Still half-frozen and not yet thawed by the gray morning light.

Last of the little critters I suspect until spring

    Re: Last Hold Out

Thanks, Knight. Just yesterday our local weatherman said that November and December should be mild while January and February will be severe. But then he follows that up immediately with "but I could be wrong".

Easy job these weathermen/women. Can you imagine a car mechanic saying "You're transmission is shot and will cost $2k to fix it. It'll run like new after that. Or I could be wrong".

I know, weather is not the exact science. But he could have simply said, "your guess is as good as mine"
