    Looking for prey

    I was delighted to notice this morning that my robin pair "Chip & Pin" are nesting for the second time, and this time it is in one of my nest boxes, only to notice through my kitchen window this beasty sitting on the garden fence! we do have kestrels and sparrow hawks around here, but very rarely seen in residential areas like mine.

    Methinks Chip and Pin better find a good place to hide.

    Yeah, that eurasian sparrow hawk(Accipiter nisus) will definately eat them. No doubt about it, because they are bird eating raptors.

    Cool bird! The bulging eyes make it look just the way I figure our Cooper's Hawk would look… if it had a goiter.
