Obligatory Autumn Leaf & Water Images

Stopped by (or rather, "in") a stream near my house on the way back from work. Haven't shot a single "autumn" themed shot yet.

Wasn't what I had in mind. Looks like we aren't going to have a spectacular leaf season this year. But the water was quite warm (about 72 degrees by my feet estimate).

Everything as-is-where-is except for the red leaf in the last shot.

I like the first one - I think anyone that gets outside to shoot has these types of photos .... I have a few but they are from spring / summer - haven't taken the autumn one yet ... the color and sharpness are supurb as usual coming from you

I'll vote for the 1st and last. In the first shot, the leaf looks heavy and ready to sink, and on the last one, it appears that someone had set a burning cigar on the leaf.

Great images Loupey. Love the autumn colours. Where I live, most of the trees are poplars or some variation of them and the leaves all turn yellow. Very little other colours, except where people have planted mountain ash around their homes or on the street. They turn a beautiful red colour.

    Cheers,

Ahh Yes! Fall! I remember that season :-)

let's see, if I still lived in Colorado, I'd be cursing the leaves in my backyard ponds right now - LOL.

Anyway, Nice images Loupey! I kinda miss the season, but not the work!

Thanks for looking and commenting, gang.

It's never quite as easy to find the right leaf in the right place. The first image is what I typically find - a mass of ugly browns and yellows.

Although I don't typically like the milky moving water shots, I do like some hint of moving action. Finding the right amount of blur takes some trial and error. The fast ones (1/250s) look like what was actually there. But going to 1 second exposure was too much blur. For this flow, I found about 1/4s was about right.
