    Coupla environmentals - coupla bifs

I went out yesterday without the shotgun. I took a neighbor lady hawk hunting. I'm sort of tutoring her in the fine art of nature photography. My photos from her backyard last winter, tempted her enough to buy an XTI and 70-300 IS USM lens. She having a blast.

The birds were sure skittish yesterday. There was no stalking them. I believe it was due to the wind. When they can't hear much, I believe their sense of sight is relied on more heavily. The kingfishers were quite the challenge. They liked to check us out and tell us off, but they wouldn't land anywhere close.

Some nice shots Mike! I know what you mean about the kingfishers. They don't like it when I try to get close, and they are very vocal about it! Earlier this spring I did get the chance to sit and watch one dive over and over again in the same spot. I managed to get a sequence of the action, but it was quite a ways away and they weren't that good.

I love kingfishers and I wish I could get some shots of them! I've only had a couple of run-ins with them and I can vouch for their timidness.

    Nicely done.
