Little Creep(er)

Brown Creepers . One actually was on the ground under the suet feeder, picking up bits of seed on the ground. I totally dig the beaks on these guys.

Scott, they live in Alberta too. They seem to like to nest in thick conifer forests from what I have seen. They are quite secretive and has a very high pitched call note that alot of people overlook (if they even hear it).

When nesting it is extremely hard to find them from what I have found with the only 2 pairs that nest in my state.

I'd need to double check the bird guide (or with Paul, that might work too!) but I think they only winter here in IL.

First time I ever saw them was a few weeks ago... there were a half dozen or so bouncing from tree to tree. I though at first they might be some sort of wren. There were two or three I saw on the day I took these. I don't know if they're moving on or if I just didn't spot the rest.

You can tell pretty well from my shots of them on the trees how good their camouflage is. When they're back's towards you, they practically disappear.
