    Some birds for the week.

It has been a rainy week, but I had strong sun and warm temps on thursday so I went to WTBA. I think the inconsistant weather has been ticking off the birds too, because they weren't nearly as cooperative or jovial as they were two weeks ago. I did manage to get fairly close to a singing cardinal, which of course was hiding in dense scrub which made a good shot tough. Flash next time, I keep saying to myself.

Shame about the fence post...I'm going to try to get a reshoot of this one, the lake in the background is nice.

    just a european sparrow.

The lake background is gorgeous - great coloration. Kinda funny that the fence post has some feathers on it - looks like the sparrow is looking at it like, "Ouch! Who put that there!".

Please do get some reshoots there. The barrier fence and the background are great. You need a shorebird on the fence to tie the other two elements together.

Great shots Erik, what is the bird in the 3rd image? so much like our Skylarks, but i agree the composition on this one is very fitting.
