Ladies in Waiting

These Mule Deer does were hiding in the brush at the Camas NWR in Idaho at the end of October. It was a blustery, cold day and these girls found a protected spot to graze, and perhaps wait for a buck to come calling.

Thank you, Matt. I'm finding that the Mk IV doesn't blow out the highlights nearly as bad as my 7D.

Great picture, since deer tend to flee from photography.

With that title I thought it might be female African lions in waiting for the males to finish eating a kill. Lion culture is sexist, since the males dine first, even if they had no part in a successful hunt.
