In the Kgalagadi

I recently returned from a trip into the Kgalagadi Trans-frontier Park that straddles South Africa and Botswana. It is part of the Kalahari desert but recent rains have turned the landscape green and a sea of grass. The park, including both the South African and Botswana sections is somewhat bigger than the Kruger National Park in RSA. The picture shown here reflects the state of the countryside at present. It is usually devoid of grass with scant vegetation. Anyone having watched Meerkat Manner will have the idea. The park is a wonderful place to visit and I will share some of the wildlife pics here as they find their way through the work flow. These pics are of a Kalahari Black Maned Lion, Black Chested Snake-Eagle and a Tawny Eagle. Sorry to make this sound like travelogue but I have assumed that this is a relatively unknown part of the world for most of the forum members and that it would be of interest.
