    Jay Stalking

Over the last couple of days i have been studying the jays coming and going collecting and burying their acorns for the winter months, although a very shy bird, keeping well covered i managed to get these shots of them.

All three are gorgeous images Bev, but #1 is exceptional the way you caught the in flight wings and the eye peering out. It certainly does pay dividends to stalk you prey before you plan to shoot.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Awesome pics Bev. I like the way #2 looks like he's just hanging in mid-air.

    Wow - gorgeous shots, Bev!

It definitely pays to do research and then execute with determination (these along with your Stags and Kingfisher shots).

    Great job

Thanks Quetzel, OT and Loupey, this is where i really benefitted from my 100-400, i had to have it wide open as the Jays were flying high over the top of me.

Very nice shots Bev. Still looking for a 400 lens here but the more I see of your shots the harder I look....

Thanks Scott-devon for your kind compliments. It took me a while to get used to this lense as i have always used the 70-200L f2.8 and the 100-400L being a push/pull zoom was a whole new learning curve, but now its just as an important piece of my kit. I recommend it!
