This is one of my favorite birds. This is the best image I got of one so far. It is not the best. I think it is a female.

It is always a good feeling to get a satisfactory picture of one's favorite bird! :-)

The kingfisher shot posted here is actually a male belted kingfisher. Female has rufous-colored bars on its belly.

I think it's a great shot, that needs to be cropped closer and I think it would be a lot better IMO.

Very nice male kingfisher image and I know how hard they are to shoot!

kingfishers are non typical in that the female is the better looking, while most other birds have the better looking males .
