It's good to be king, once in a while...
When I saw these Iguanas, that Tom Petty song popped into my head immediately :) I know the foreground sux but I had already chased them nearly an eighth of a mile down the river bank and each time the stopped, the surroundings were even less ideal than the time before. What initially struck me was the coloration and I was trying to guide them to the rocks, but they'd have none of it.

    Neat shot and cool colors.

I assume that the main Iguana is a male in breeding form.

The photo gives no frame of reference, but that male was easily over 6' from nose to tail. The adults do NOT make good pets! :p Down here we have the same overpopulation problems with them as you guys do with deer in NJ/PA

I had him pegged at 5' + and understand the huge ones are nasty as all can be.

I breed reptiles and know a few guys in s florida that catch 100-200 a night at 3-20 a piece in the spring.

We had huge herds of deer in my area a few years back, but white buffalo and opening areas to hunting have decreased that. I do indeed see a deer everyday as an arborist, so they are still over populated in some areas..... sadly.
