    Incoming Spoonbills
Don't you just love the days when everything works out perfectly? Last Saturday my trip to Sanibel was supposed to be a complete waste of time. I woke up before dawn to heavy fog and rain, but decided to take a chance that the islands would be better. The weather stayed bad until I got to the beginning of the causeway, and then just miraculously broke into a beautiful morning, with a great wind from the East. When I got to Ding Darling NWR, there was no one else there. I had one of the most incredible shoots I've ever had there, and the only person I saw the entire morning was the Ranger. Everyone else thought the weather was bad! The folks who follow me on Facebook have already seen these, but I decided to post for all my friends here. These were all shot in manual mode. Enjoy, and keep on shooting!

I'd pick #2, too, if I have to. But, I actually like the perspective of #1 better for that wing position. The only thing that forced me to pick #2 is because of the head position in #1 :) Still, quality work as usual, Canon_Bob !

I have to be different and go with #4. The cupped position really shows all of the bird; the darker pinks in the shadows give a completely different range of color and the wing silohuette on the other wing matching the shape is very nice. - Terry

Hey, 2# and 3# photos are the most attractive of all the photos posted in the third photos it's look like the face of the Spoonbills is coming out of the flower(It's wings), that's fantastic.

I would be tickled with any of them. Great pictures. You seldom get a good shot when you sleep late. Good job.
