    Mr. Golden-eye's & friends

I set out do some manuAl focus practice this morning, but the duck action was too hot These are of the same duck using my 1.4TC and Al Servo. He was going to land right in front of me and changed his mind at the last second.

The friends will follow as I get them processed...

    Thanks for looking.

Wow...look at those eyes! I love the second one...it's almost like he's looking at you sideways as he flies away.

And finally, a little bit of a mixed bag…

I’ve wanted this shot of a duck sliding across the top of the water as it lands for a long time… I wish would have turned out better. The odd color in the water is from the reflection of a near by building.

    Thank you for looking.

Very nice, Copy! I really like the 2nd set and the first male mallard shot.

    Impressive!

Great shots! By any chance did you get that female red-breasted merganser alone?

    Thanks Loupey and Paul.

Paul these are all of my merganser’s from yesterday. I’m not sure what kind they are, I thought they were just the common merganser.

That one getting on the ice looked like a VERY RARE inland red-breasted, but I guess they are all commons .

Edit..... nope..... red breasted they are.

    Re: Mr. Golden-eye's & friends

Hmmm, I'm looking in my Sibley guide... I think maybe they are red-breasted. Look at the white band under her eye... and look at the common and r/b in Sibley's. Also, the Sibley guide says that the r/b has a defused head color, and the common is more of a solid color (I've got my fingers crossed now... hoping )

Great shots copy, boy you have been busy, i love the second from last one of the merganser, and the snow and ice in the frames make the colours come to life. Great job.
