    I hate spiders!
    A friend of mine found this thing today. Is this spider about to lay eggs?

    Update. This is an orb web spider of some kind. Not sure of the exact species.

    Thanks Knight. It helped that I set this up in my office, and the thing dign't move for several minutes. I eventually relocated him outside (in the neighbors yard of course)!

    Thanks Loupey. I tried to find a web this afternoon in the area I released it, but I didn't see anything. When it got flipped onto it's back, it couldn't get back over so I'm curious to know if it survives. If not, I'm sure it would make a nice juicy snack for some birds.
