    Well it's blue but it's actually an indigo bunting that you have there. Indigos have blue on their sides/belly and fly on what appear to be stubby dark wings that twitter more than they flap.

    Good birds to get in my book. About as weary as bluebirds too.

    It is? Oh, I have them near my home! Here's a couple of crummy ones I got on a dark day.
    (That "blue bird" was so far away I could tell what the heck it was...lol)

    I may not be able to pick out the songs and calls, but I spend enough time chasing BIF's that I can ID many by the flight profile/characteristics.

    Oh, FWIW, bluebirds are extremely difficult to photograph in free flight like this. I haven't been successful. They fly with purpose - going from point A to point B (point B is always away from you) - with no distractions and very fast.
