Hello everybody

I just bought my first digital camera today, a Canon PowerShot SD850 and hopefully you'll be seeing some of my pictures here (probably all of them in this nature section). I haven't had much time to toy with things and really get enriched in the depth and complexity you guys are used to (or the super-expensive cameras), so if you'd like I wouldn't mind a link to what you consider to be the best place for a beginner to start. And I might as well add a photo here that I took as soon as I got home, so I don't get yelled at. :)


Edit-I love how his neck is so stretched out and curved.
Not a rare bird, but I just got the camera today and it was really cold outside (was taken through a window for this reason). Also, is there a way to show a photo in a different size or do I have to resize it in an outside program beforehand? I noticed I could get a link to a thumbnail, this medium size, and an enormous one, but I was really hoping for something a bit bigger than this medium sized one yet not so large as the huge one. These sizes seem to reduce the sharpness of the image. Also, how do you just post a photo in your post?
Obviously new and open to suggestions and help,

Edit2: Found out how to just put in an image, just like an other forum... Resizing this one is giving me a headache, so I'm going to take a break. The internet is running slowly, I don't know how to navigate the forums, and it doesn't look the same because it switched off Actual Pixels again. Darn inexperience.


Actually adding one more on. This is the family dog Slinky. I suppose it's more "life" than "wildlife," but hey. And it's enormous, I'll resize it tomorrow. -done
