Have you seen this before?
Mallards in a tree. Maybe it's not that unusual but I've never seen it. The female didn't look too comfortable as she slipped a few times.
Taken from a long way aways. First image is full frame with full 600mm, 2nd is just a crop of the same image. People around me had no idea what I was shooting :p
Re: Have you seen this before?
I've seen them in a lot of strange places, but never in a tree... nice catch!
Re: Have you seen this before?
Your not going to believe me but i have and even had a picture but it was taken with a point and shoot that had no zoom and was of horrible quality. But me and my buddy had bino`s and we could see him perfecly. The rest of the crew laughed at us lol. Thanks for posting this Loupey now i can show this to the guys i work with :):) It`s my turn to laugh .
Re: Have you seen this before?
Theres a family of Geese up here that nest in a tree. About 6-7 feet off the ground. Every year but this one they have had a casualty with at least one of their babies breaking something as they leave the nest. Once they are out of the nest theres no getting back in.... I hope I have something like that set up for when my kids leave the nest lol.

Re: Have you seen this before?
So I take it that this isn't the norm.
This pair must have staked this tree out as their own as I saw them take flight to chase another duck away only to circle back and land in the tree again.
I don't think I can get any closer but it would make for an even funnier shot.
thanks for looking.
Re: Have you seen this before?
I have not ever seen one in a tree...Nice capture.
Re: Have you seen this before?
Loupey, that is very strange. I have never seen mallards in a tree or even close to a tree, but then we don't have a lot of big trees on the western prairies. Great picture!!
Cheers,
