    Harlequin Duck

This past spring while I was guiding a group of photographers here on Vancouver Island one of my clients really inspired me with his commitment to getting a low angle shot of these beautiful ducks. The rocky shoreline can make this kind of image difficult but he was not to be deterred and got some really sweet images. I have to admit that I was jealous of the shots that he got and had to go back with my own camera a few weeks later to try for my own.

    Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
    Shutter speed: 1/2500 sec
    Aperture: 5.6
    ISO: 320
    Lens: EF500mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x

That's beautiful, Glenn. I love that bit of blurred water in front of the duck. I think going back and working for the low angle was worth the effort.

I am really intrigued by this shot. I am now motivated to try something similar. Thanks!
