Excellent! Did you take this in Glacier or somewhere else? I've never seen a grizzly in the wild and I confess, I'm just fine with that :)

I'd be fine with a 800mm from farther away, that 500mm seems a little close ?

pffft a 500 puts to shame my 70-200 (with 1.7 tc) I'm using to shoot griz. looks like its still from his Alaska trip. Much different look (the bear) that the lower 48 bears i've seen.

Don't think I'd want to get that close, unless I was in a shark cage that was bolted into the ground or something. It's hard to judge the expression of a grizzly -- is he thinking, "no luck with the salmon; that guy with the camera looks tasty"?
