    Great Horned Owl
I haven't seen a great horned owl for years. If you look at his ears, you can see how windy it was today.

Right now is when owl start to bond I do believe, I have heard the females purring in late october in the past. They are usually not in the open during daylight hours, so that's a very nice find!!!!

Have you ever heard of the Pied piper? :p

Actually, I was driving along the gravel road and saw this huge bird fly across and land in the tree. At first I assumed it was a hawk, and I can never get enough photos of hawks. As soon as I looked at him thru my lens, I saw the ears. It was then I realized I had something a bit special. I took a few quick shots out my car window and then backed up. I was hoping to be able to get out and stalk him, However, as soon as I put the car in reverse, he took off. I was just happy this shot turned out as well as it did. I cropped away at least 2/3.

I have yet to even see a GHO and I know we have them in the parks nearby.
