    The Great Egrets are back!
Now I just need them to be in the East side lake, not the west side at this time of day. :wink5:
(I can't go off the property to get on the other side of him/her)

Cropped quite a bit, but I love the pose.

I could just cry :cryin: wishing the light was more direct, but I still like the light coming through the bill and tail feathers. He had only just noticed me fairly close when I shot this and he froze, probably very frightened with his neck straight up.

I actually had to call to him for him to snap out of it and fly off!

    Bye for now beautiful bird.

    Great find. Nicely done.
I always seem to find myself on the wrong side of the bank.

Nice series. I'm anxious for them and some of the other shorebirds, to make it back to MN. We aren't that far from Illinois. Then again, I'm looking out my window right now, and it's snowing like crazy.

    Thanks for the props guys.

Bob - The problem I have with this place is that I work 2nd shift so the lake on the west side (bottom of the picture) is poor for good pictures. The red "X" is where my Great Heron was yesterday. I was working out at trailer control where the little red dot is. My better shots are of course facing towards the east lake on the top of the picture. My "boyfirend" goose hangs out close to that shore by trailer control. The geese and duck families will walk right across our entrance road there when their young are little before they can fly. It's really fun to watch.

Mike - LOL... well, we just had some snow last week I think it was, so maybe you will see some very soon!

Oh, those white things in the lake are fountains. The ducks and geese love them.

Something tells me you are going to get a lot of nice shots from that area once eggs start hatching.
